Sharing Your Unfinished Story

Share Your Story, Despite The Chapter.

Ever since God has placed in my heart to create a platform for people to share their stories, I have gotten so many different responses from different people regarding it. People are always hype about hearing what God seems to be or is doing for others, but I've discovered that those same hype men get really shy when inquired about sharing their own experiences.

  • "My story isn't done being written yet"
  • "I need to get my degree first before I can talk about it"
  • "My real story will start when I'm married"
  • "I need that brand new car, then I'll have a story to tell"
  • "Nothing BIG has happened for me yet.
  • "I don't have a story" (the #1 answer)

I have heard it all before and I was always left confused when people would respond in such a way. The truth is this, you may not be comfortable sharing it, but EVERYONE has a story to tell. Whether you think its worthy, unwritten or not finished; you have something to talk about that should be heard. And honestly, the best stories to tell are the ones that are in the process of being written. "In the process" is such a relatable statement because of the millions of people who are currently in that stage of life.

When you're transparent about the up's and downs of your process, it shows how human you are. No one one earth has the blueprint of a perfect life because no one on earth is perfect. We all make mistakes and we all are doing what we have to do to live a righteous life (not a perfect one). That includes, leaders, pastors, deacons, presidents, teachers, spiritual advisors, entertainers, public figures and so on.. they all fall short every now and then and it is extremely important for people with a platform to share how imperfect they are and that even their stories are not done being written.

Who says you need an ending to have a story? Have you not heard the term "To be continued?" Don't be afraid to share what you're currently going through because you're not done going through it. Someone out there needs to hear it and they need to know that they are not alone.
